We're Going On A Field Trip!

Dear Parents,

We are going on a trip to East York Gymnastics Club to participate in small group gymnastics classes with trained coaches! We are lucky that the gymnastics club is close enough for us to walk there and back! We will be leaving the school at 9 a.m and will return at noon. The cost will be $11.00.

Mrs. Cano and Mrs. Sidheri's class will be going on April 8th and Ms. Sharman and Ms. Bennett's class will be going on April 13th.

A permission form is coming home today in your child's backpack. Please fill out the appropriate sections and return the form, along with the money by Friday April, 1st.

We can't wait to go!!

Overdue Library Books

Dear Parents,

We have a number of children who have overdue library books in our classrooms. If you could please check at home for any books and return the books as soon as possible, it would make our librarian, Ms. Vincent, very happy!!!

Request for Packaging Materials

Our classes have been learning about three-dimensional figures, such as the cube, cone, cylinder and sphere. We are also learning about how three-dimensional figures can be combined to build structures. In a few days, we will begin building structures by using packaging materials that are three-dimensional figures.

You can help! We would appreciate if you could send empty packaging materials that are three-dimensional figures to class with your child. For example, you could send such materials as cereal boxes, chocolate boxes, shoeboxes, and paper rolls.

Thanks in advance for the materials you are able to provide for our math activity.

Winter Activity/ Valentine's Day
 

Thursday February 11th is Winter Activity Day at Clairlea! As the Junior/Intermediate students head out to ski or skate and the Primary students host their own activities here at the school, the Kindergarten classes will be having our very own 'Valenter Activity Day' to celebrate Valentine's Day and Winter. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately to play outside!!! Our activities will include: games, a movie, treats, and fun! If you would like to send treats in for the class, please ensure there is enough for all of the students (29), and they should be nut-free. Also, each child will be making their own 'mailbox' for Valentine's cards - if you would like to send cards with your child, please do not address them - it makes the handing out process very difficult! Thanks!

Dear Kindergarten Families,

We hope you had a restful and fun winter holiday! We wish you a 2016 filled with happiness, health and love!

We are happy to see how excited the children have been to come back to school and learning!

Just a reminder:

With the winter months here, we would like to remind all of you, that your children should come to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Please help them practice to dress and undress themselves at home. Being able to dress themselves, will help to build your child's sense of independence and confidence.

Poetry folders are sent home on Thursday and must be returned on Monday.

"Book a day" program (SK's) - your child will continue to bring home a different book each day. Please read with your child!
